Uri Portrait of a young man

I love working with the figure. Using oils and cold wax is a big challenge, mainly because of the tools and almost non-use of brushes. I have taken a few courses with Melinda Cootsona, a master at figurative painting. My reference was a photograph I took of my grandson at a family gathering. He seemed to be bored and not taking part. I took the photo at an angle, making his figure more elongated and abstract. My intention was to show this boredom with color and emphasis on the lines of the figure, especially his hands.

Thanks Beverly! It wasn't so user friendly at first. But I hope they will get along!
